OUR STORY

Wiley-Boo-Hah” (noun)

[wī-lee boo-hah]

A playful, made-up word for the wild places where real adventure lives.

The Wiley-Boo-Hah is the deep woods, the backcountry, the middle of nowhere, where the roads end, the animals roam, and your instincts come alive. It’s where families grow grit, memories are made, and wild stories are born.

The Stuck In The Rut book series is written by Tana Grenda and co-written by her dad, Phil Schneider. Tana was raised in the mountains of North Idaho, where her dad often referred to the wilderness as the “Wiley-Boo-Hah.” When she was a teenager, Phil wrote playful hunting rhymes inspired by their new family YouTube channel, Stuck N The Rut. Tana tucked those rhymes away, knowing they’d one day become something more.

Years later, after fostering and adopting many children of her own, Tana longed for children's books that reflected the rugged outdoor life she was teaching them. So she pulled out her dad’s old rhymes and turned them into two books that could honor her family legacy and reach kids and families around the world.

Phil’s silly words and catchy verses sparked the creation of Chasing Dreams andWiley-Boo-Hah Books—a surprise gift to her dad and a dream come true for both of them.

Tana is a passionate foster and adoptive mom, outdoorswoman, hunter, and advocate for adventure. Growing up with a deep love for the mountains and a relentless drive for the hunt, she has spent her life chasing the thrill of the great outdoors.

When Tana is not in the wilderness of Alaska with her family, Tana is sharing her experiences and inspiring others to embrace an outdoor lifestyle. The Stuck in the Rut book series reflects her family’s dedication to hunting, encouraging young adventurers to chase their dreams, push their limits, and find freedom in the “Wiley-Boo-Hah.”
